Magnificent Roman ruins perched on a beautiful cliff amid stunning natural scenery. It is well worth the 45 minute hike up the steep hill leading to this ancient Roman Villa, if only for the incredible beauty that awaits the hardy traveler. While the remains of the ancient residence alone are worth the trip, they pale in comparison to the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds the visitor. Make sure to notice the cliff off of which the Emperor Tiberious would throw his unfaithful (or displeasing) subjects – it is much farther down than it seems.
